This wick, along with the Honeywell humidifier, does an excellent job of keeping our house comfortable during the heating season. I've found that flipping the wick and giving it a quarter turn each time I refill the tanks extends its practicable life. Keeping the humidifier on a low fan setting for longer periods, instead of on medium or high speed for short durations, also prolongs the filter life.
I've tried alternate filters but have found that Honeywell filters are the best!!
