What is the difference between Propionate and Polycarbonate face shields?

The material you choose depends on your specific work environment. Propionate visors are generally better for chemical splash protection as they provide good clarity and resistance to a variety of organic and inorganic chemicals. How do I know which "Shade" visor I need for welding or cutting?
