The motor in our previous Honeywell humidifier died after 5 or or years in constant use during winters. This new one is doing as well if not better in keeping the humidity up in the area where we have placed it. We like the 2-directioinal option for mist spray. The only negative is that we have to bring it to the water faucet twice daily, given that there is not top fill option. We looked for another 1.5 gallon option with top fill but didn't find one. (Maybe, we missed seeing it?)

Does this model require replacement filters?

No. Like other ultrasonic models in this series, the HUL565 is completely filter-free. It uses an internal nebulizer to create a visible cool mist, eliminating the need for wicking filters. For those concerned about "white dust" from hard water, the unit is compatible with Protec Demineralization Cartridges (sold separately).

What makes the "Ultra Plus" different from the "Ultra Comfort" model?

The Ultra Plus is designed for larger spaces, featuring a higher capacity 1.5-gallon tank and a more advanced digital humidistat. While the Comfort model is generally a manual unit, the Ultra Plus allows you to select from four preset humidity comfort levels (approximately 40%, 50%, 60%, and 70% RH), and it will automatically cycle on and off to maintain your chosen setting.

How do the "Humidity Reached" and "Auto Shut-Off" lights work?

The unit features two distinct indicator colors:

Green Light: This "Humidity Reached" light illuminates when the room has reached your programmed humidistat level. The mist will temporarily stop until the humidity drops again.
Orange Light: The power icon will turn orange when the 1.5-gallon tank is empty, signaling that the unit has automatically shut off for safety.

What is the maximum runtime and coverage?

On its lowest mist setting, the HUL565W can run for up to 40 continuous hours per filling. It is optimized for large rooms (typically up to 500 sq. ft.), making it an ideal choice for living areas, open-plan master bedrooms, or large nurseries.

Dual Directional Mist Outlet

This humidifier features a directional Mist Outlet. You can use this feature to direct mist where you need it most. The Outlet will rotate 90º in each direction from the front to help reduce white dust ingestion in the rear air input vent.

The Honeywell Ultra Plus Cool Mist Humidifier can use Protec Humidifier Cleaning Balls. Protec Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges feature a patented antimicrobial, Aquastat that continuously works to hinder the growth of bacteria and mold. They're also capable of preventing the buildup of slime in the water and humidifier surfaces. Protec Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges work in all humidifiers and are safe/non-toxic. Aquastat contains no harsh chemicals or harsh acids making the cleaning action just as gentle as water on your humidifier surfaces and components.
