What Are Honeywell Allergen Plus Air Purifiers?
These home air purifiers have been engineered to capture up to 99.97% of the following microscopic airborne allergens and particles: dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris and smoke. These portable air purifiers use an easy to read VOC sensor that displays the surrounding air quality level. They also implement a custom filtration process via enhanced odor filters, effectively turning them into pet air purifiers, smoke air purifiers and air purifiers for allergies.
How effective is the Honeywell HPA180 at removing allergens?
The Honeywell HPA180 is a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air purifier, which means it can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. This includes dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. The portable air purifier also has an activated carbon pre-filter that helps remove odors and VOCs.
How big of a room can the Honeywell HPA180 clean?
The Honeywell HPA180 is rated to clean rooms up to 200 square feet. This makes it a large room air purifier. However, the actual size of the room that the HPA100 can clean will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
How loud is the Honeywell HPA180?
The Honeywell HPA180 has four settings, and the noise level varies depending on the setting. At the lowest speed, this home air purifier is about as quiet as a whisper. At the highest speed, the portable air purifier is about as loud as a normal conversation.
How often do I need to change the filters on the Honeywell HPA180?
The Honeywell HPA180 comes with a pre-filter and a HEPA filter. The pre-filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, and the HEPA filter should be replaced every 6-12 months. InSight Air Purifiers can also use enhanced filters that should be replaced every 3 months. The actual replacement schedule will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
What filters do I need for the HPA180?
The HPA180 uses Replacement True HEPA Filter G and Replacement Pre-filter A. Optional enhanced odor filters can be used for targeting specific odors.
My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What's wrong?
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Replace the Filters. The HEPA Filters should be replaced every year and the Pre-Filter and Enhanced Odor and VOC Filters should be replaced every 3 months. Please note these are guidelines only and filters should be checked periodically as individual home conditions may vary. To ensure the unit is performing properly, replace with Certified Genuine Honeywell Filters.
How long should I run my Air Purifier?
In general, the unit will be most effective when doors and windows are closed. It is recommended that you run your air purifier while you are at home to help clean the air. If desired or conditions warrant, you may run your air purifier 24 hours a day
Can I wash any of the filters in my Air Purifier?
No. Washing the filters in your air purifier will ruin them.
What are VOCs?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted from various solids and liquids such as paints, cleaning supplies, building materials, and permanent markers. Some of these compounds can have adverse short and long term health effects and consistently have higher concentrations indoors than outside.
Do Honeywell Air Purifiers Emit Ozone?
No, Honeywell HEPA Air Purifiers use HEPA Filtration that does not release ozone into the surrounding area.
Is this a good air purifier for smoke?
This Honeywell InSight HEPA Tower Air Purifier is effective at removing smoke. It is rated to capture up to 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger, including smoke.

The newest addition to the Honeywell Allergen Plus Series of Air Purifiers delivers powerful HEPA filtration in a tower design that displays device setting information from a distance. The Air Quality Indicator is powered by a VOC sensor that will constantly monitor room air quality while providing real time, easy to understand color coded feedback via the clear Insight™ Display Panel. When set to Automatic Cleaning mode, this portable air purifier uses the air quality reading to automatically adjust to the optimal cleaning level. The easy to read color coded feedback on the clear display panel will illuminate which cleaning level (4 available) you've selected. The Honeywell HEPA Tower Air Purifier uses Certified HEPA filters to help capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens and particles.1 This home air purifier can help capture airborne particles such as dust, smoke, pollen, pet dander and mold spores in large rooms (4.8 x air changes per hour in a 200 sq. ft.).2 This makes it an excellent pick as an air purifier for allergies or as a pet air purifier. In addition, the carbon activated pre-filter helps trap larger particles while helping reduce odors and VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

VOC Sensor and Air Quality Indicator

This Honeywell Air Cleaner is equipped with a VOC Sensor that detects the level of VOCs in a room while providing an easy to read visual display to indicate air quality. The Air Quality Indicator is located on the display. The VOC Sensor is constantly monitoring the surrounding air. The Air Quality Indicator light will illuminate either green, yellow, or red depending on the level of VOCs detected in the room:

  • Green - Good Air Quality: There is a very low level of VOCs in the surrounding area.

  • Yellow - Moderate Air Quality: There is a moderate level of VOCs in the surrounding area.

  • Red - Poor Air Quality: There is an elevated level of VOCs in the surrounding area.

A+ Genuine Pre-Filter

This home air purifier works with the Honeywell A and A+ Pre-Filter. The Pre-Filter is the first level of filtration and helps capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers and pet fur and helps to reduce VOCs & odors from cooking, smoke, bathrooms and pets. This filter should be replaced every 3 months. The filter check/reset light will remind you when it's time to change your filter. Initial filter included. To ensure stated product performance, use only genuine and certified Honeywell replacement filters.

G Certified True HEPA Filter

The Certified Honeywell True HEPA G Replacement Filter helps capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens, 0.3 microns & larger from any air passing through the filter. For optimal cleaning performance, replace your HEPA filter every 12 months. The filter check/reset light on the HPA180B Air Purifier will remind you when it's time to change your filter. Initial filter included.

AHAM Verifide

This air purifier for allergies is AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) Verifide meaning that it has been independently tested to ensure its efficiency in reducing smoke, dust and pollen in the suggested room size. The AHAM assigns a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) Rating that measures the volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner. The Honeywell HPA180B HEPA Tower Air Purifier received the following CADR Rating:

  • 4.8 Air changes per hour in a 200 sq. ft. room
  • Tobacco Smoke: 132
