Excellent Customer Service

When an item I ordered was out of stock, I was notified right away and Nicole helped me select another air filter unit, and gave me a discount for my troubles.

How effective is the Honeywell HPA160 at removing allergens?
The Honeywell HPA160 is a high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) air purifier, which means it can remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger. This includes dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores. The portable air purifier also has an activated carbon pre-filter that helps remove odors and VOCs.
How big of a room can the Honeywell HPA160 clean?
The Honeywell HPA160 is rated to clean rooms up to 170 square feet. This makes it a medium to large room air purifier. However, the actual size of the room that the HPA160 can clean will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
How loud is the Honeywell HPA160?
The Honeywell HPA160 has three settings, and the noise level varies depending on the setting. At the lowest speed, this home air purifier is about as quiet as a whisper. At the highest speed, the portable air purifier is about as loud as a normal conversation.
How often do I need to change the filters on the Honeywell HPA160?
The Honeywell HPA160 comes with a pre-filter and a HEPA filter. The pre-filter should be replaced every 1-3 months, and the HEPA filter should be replaced every 6-12 months. The actual replacement schedule will depend on the level of air pollution in the room.
What filters do I need for the HPA160?
The HPA160 uses Replacement True HEPA Filter H and Replacement Pre-filter B.
My Air Purifier is starting to make noise and the air output is less. What's wrong?
The filters may be dirty. High amounts of contaminants can block the pores in the filter and stop the air from moving through it. Replace the Filters. The HEPA Filters should be replaced every year and the Pre-Filter and Enhanced Odor and VOC Filters should be replaced every 3 months. Please note these are guidelines only and filters should be checked periodically as individual home conditions may vary. To ensure the unit is performing properly, replace with Certified Genuine Honeywell Filters.
How long should I run my Air Purifier?
In general, the unit will be most effective when doors and windows are closed. It is recommended that you run your air purifier while you are at home to help clean the air. If desired or conditions warrant, you may run your air purifier 24 hours a day
Can I wash any of the filters in my Air Purifier?
No. Washing the filters in your air purifier will ruin them.
What are VOCs?
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are emitted from various solids and liquids such as paints, cleaning supplies, building materials, and permanent markers. Some of these compounds can have adverse short and long term health effects and consistently have higher concentrations indoors than outside.

The Honeywell HPA160 Air Purifier uses a True HEPA filter that helps capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens.1 The carbon pre-filter also helps in the removal of odors and VOCs in the surrounding area.2 This makes it an excellent choice as a pet air purifier or air purifier for dust. Incredibly compact in design, this portable air purifier carries additional versatility with its strength of circulating air up to 4.8 times an hour in rooms as large as 170 sq. ft. 3 The home air purifier comes programmed with three settings, an auto-shut off timer, easy tap electronic controls and electric filter replacement reminders.

B Genuine Pre-Filter

This quiet air purifier works with the Honeywell B Pre-Filter. The Pre-Filter is the first level of filtration and helps capture large particles such as dust, lint, fibers and pet fur and helps to reduce VOCs & odors from cooking, smoke, bathrooms and pets. This filter should be replaced every 3 months. The filter check/reset light will remind you when it’s time to change your filter. Initial filter included. To ensure stated product performance, use only genuine and certified Honeywell replacement filters.

H Certified True HEPA Filter

The Certified Honeywell True HEPA H Replacement Filter helps capture up to 99.97% of microscopic allergens, 0.3 microns & larger from any air passing through the filter. For optimal cleaning performance, replace your HEPA filter every 12 months. The filter check/reset light on the HPA160 Air Purifier will remind you when it’s time to change your filter. Initial filter included.

AHAM Verifide

This air purifier for allergies is AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) Verifide meaning that it has been independently tested to ensure its efficiency in reducing smoke, dust and pollen in the suggested room size. The AHAM assigns a CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) Rating that measures the volume of filtered air delivered by an air cleaner. The Honeywell HPA160 True HEPA Tower Allergen Remover received the following CADR Rating:

  • 4.8 Air changes per hour in a 170 sq. ft. room
  • Tobacco Smoke: 110
  • Dust: 120
  • Pollen: 130
