Customer Reviews For The Honeywell Home X7S Smart Thermostat with Advanced Occupancy Sensing, Black

Yes. Unlike many older WiFi thermostats that strictly require a 2.4 GHz connection, the X7S is built with dual-band WiFi hardware. This wifi thermostat connects seamlessly to both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz home networks, making it highly compatible with modern dual-band mesh routers.

Yes, a C-wire (common wire) is required to supply continuous 24V hardwired power to the radar motion array and the vibrant color touchscreen. If your current system lacks a C-wire, a voucher for a free Honeywell Home C-Wire Adapter is included in the box.

No. The X7S is designed for low-voltage (24V) HVAC configurations. It is compatible with conventional systems up to 2 Heat/2 Cool and heat pump systems up to 3 Heat/2 Cool, but it will not work with high-voltage 120-240V electric baseboard heating.

The primary difference is the addition of advanced radar occupancy sensing on the X7S. While both models feature Matter connectivity and a customizable touchscreen, the X7S uses motion tracking to enable a dynamic "Auto-Away" energy-saving mode when the house is empty.

Thanks to its universal Matter certification, the X7S integrates natively with nearly all major smart ecosystems. You can control your indoor climate hands-free using voice commands through Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
