I bought two of these humidifiers and true to Honeywell quality they operate exactly as advertised. My wife and I are also pleased with the quickness of delivery. Because of our satisfaction with Honeywell products, we fill it is best to order straight from Honeywell to cut any doubt with other similar products.

This unit uses a hybrid process: it boils water to create steam and then fuses it with ultrasonic cool mist. This results in a comfortable warm mist (not scalding hot) that is ideal for winter months or during cold and flu season. Note that while cool mist is immediate, you should allow about 5 minutes for the water to boil before the warm mist begins to exhaust.
The sound may increase on warm mist setting as the heating element warms up to boil water. You'll want to wait up to 5 minutes for the water to boil. The sound should then decrease. The sound level will always be higher on warm mist setting.
No. The HWC775 is a filter-free model. It uses ultrasonic technology for the cool mist and a heating element for the warm mist, so there are no wicking filters to buy or replace. If you have hard water, you may choose to use a Protec Demineralization Cartridge to help reduce "white dust" buildup.
On its lowest setting, the humidifier can provide up to 36 hours of continuous moisture. It is designed for large rooms (up to 600 sq. ft.) and features an Auto Shut-Off function that turns the unit off when the water level is low. The power light will change to orange to indicate it’s time for a refill.
