The Resideo Water Cable Sensor is an easily installed attachment that adds a significant amount of length to the Resideo Wi-Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector. For installation, simply plug the water cable sensor into the detector. The entire length of cable functions as an extended sensor. Additional 4 ft. cable sensors (sold separately) can be connected to extend the range of water sensing detection by up to 500 ft.
Extend and Expand
Each 4 ft. cable sensor is capable of connecting to other cable sensors. Connecting additional cables creates a daisy chain, extending the range of your Water Leak and Freeze Detector. Connect up to 500 ft. of cable sensors to provide coverage across larger areas - think basement or utility room - to help monitor even more of your home.
Coverage Comes Full Circle
Connected to your Water Leak and Freeze Detector, the Sensor Cable provides detection along its entire cylindrical surface. Detecting water rising from below or humidity gathering above, the sensors also read temperature to notify you if your home is experiencing freeze or excessive heat.
Don't Replace - Reuse
After detecting an incident, the Sensor Cables can be reused. Provided the battery-operated system was not completely submerged, simply wipe the sensors dry to restore them to full service. You save replacement time - and money - and have your system back on duty faster.
*Please note the Resideo Water Cable Sensor is NOT designed for plugging into a power adapter. This process may cause damage to the detector.

Question
Ordered these detectors and they work great! Question on the Cable Sensor: I want to have this cable fit into the door threshold of some French doors we have, but the connector at the end is too large for it to fit. Can the end connector be snipped off without making the rest of the cable useless? Thanks for this great product!
Customer Service Response:
Thank you for the question, John. We would advise not cutting the connector as it's vital in the cable's operation.

Easy set up and connectivity
Very easy to set up overall. The fact that the entire cable is a sensor is great concept, so you are be able to lay it as a perimeter enclosing the appliances that could leak. Connectivity was seamless upon installing and has been fine in the one week it has been in place. The reset button could be a bit more accessible.

Rope sensor
We used these on a Hi rise to wrap the riser for leak protection. I have a business that protects against water leaks. We installed a week ago and got a call this morning that the building had gotten a notification that the riser was wet. It did what it was suppose to do worked great.
