I am very pleased with the performance of this fan. The minor assembly was easy to complete and it works exactly as advertised. In fact, I just bought a second one today. My only disappointment is that the base does not have any type of soft pads or flat zones to which I could affix soft pads I have hardwood floors but nonetheless, I highly recommend this unit.

I cannot give it a 5 yet since I havent had it for long but so far it is working out very well for me. The volume of air that the fan outputs is as much if not more than what a regular blade fan would but with less, much less noise.
Regular blade fans sometimes can sound like a Cessna when your asleep.

Many companies that make fans advertise them as whisper quiet, but the last one that I owned that truly was whisper quiet was over ten years old and recently died. And it is not made anymore.
The Honeywell 108 is unique, it has eight settings, and the whisper quiet function is truly silent, and the fan oscillates quietly also. I wanted it for my bedroom as I need air circulation in order to sleep, but cant sleep through any of the commercial fans you buy in stores. Delighted to report this fan is truly quiet, attractive, and was shipped exactly as I asked they let you leave instructions when you order online. One reviewer mentioned that the light on the top of the fan is rather bright for the bedroom. I had the same problem with my Bose Stereo. Solved that with an index card 3 x 5 taped to the top at night, dims the light so your sleeping is not disturbed. Warning, I had bought this fan from Amazon from another dealer at a much lower price, and got a poorly working model. Suggest buyers buy from this very fine company. I really like the fan very much and am sleeping better.

I have the QuietSet HY-108 for about a month now and it has been performing very well for our bedroom. It is very quite - especially in low speeds. A small creeking sound emanates from the fan occasionally but I have not been able to pinpoint the issue. However, so far so good.

Bought at Target. Box had a hole in it but I purchased anyway. During assembly, noticed a crack in the base connection. Assembled anyway. Works fine. Seems a little unstable and when oscillating, i can hear it whirring. I like the thermostat. When I turned it on the first night, the temp started at 82. I opened a window, pulled in some outside air and it was down to 77 in just a few minutes. 68 by early morning. It has a timer cool, and 8 speeds. Much quieter than the small vornado I had. I will probably keep it.

My husband and I bought this fan for our bedroom to supplement the air conditioner. The display has such a bright blue light it kept us both from sleeping well. For me thats par for the course, but my husband can sleep through anything. We had to wrap a scarf around the top to block the glare. Initially it started out quiet, but now the oscillation makes the fan tick loudly on each pass. I think it would be fine for any other room in the house, but terrible choice for a bedroom fan.

My only regret is that I did not buy this fan sooner! It is everything that I wanted it to be-- its quiet, it oscillates, it takes very little space, it has a remote control, and it is affordable. With only one day of use, I cannot tell you how long it will last, but fresh, out-of-the-box, I am very happy with the performance, and I hope that it lasts for several years.

Got this fan for my Boss office, he needed something quiet and he had tried other fans in the past that were just too noisy and so after he tried the honeywell hy-108 he really is enjoying it. its very quiet, and has many settings, also a handy dandy remote!
