No instructions with shipment, so I do not know if the filter needs to be soaked in water first. The shipment took a long time to ship and arrive from the date of order - 2+ weeks.

Wish the unit didnt require filters BUT since they do these are suitable. However, the water is lousy in southern MD and I only get about 30 days out each instead of approx 60 days as suggested by mfgr. To reach the 60 I would have to buy the mineral filters and its about a break even cost wise to use the mineral treatment or replace the filters more frequently.

The method of shipping you chose was our economy service, which is the most economical but it is not time sensitive. It can take up to 14 days in some cases. This is stated on our web site. We do offer several other methods for shipping (Fed Ex and USPS)which are time sensitive.

The product is fine. I had to wait because the supply ran out and my purchase was back ordered. Thats why I have the rating as a 4. I would think that a company of this size would have an effective inventory control system and would be aware that the sale of filters for a humidifier would increase in the winter.

Id have to say that Im disappointed in the new HAC-504AW filter for my Honeywell humidifier. I thought ordering them from the Honeywell Store that they would be OEM parts. They are barely half the thickness of the originals. Glad I have a couple of originals left. It would have been prudent to advertise these as not like the original before I bought them. Same old switch-a-roo as with a lot of companies, less for the same price. I know they will not perform like the originals with less water holding capability.

The item fits my Quietcare UV tower well and seems to be working fine. I have not had to change it yet so I am not sure how much buidup/dirt it actually catches. The shipping took a long time though, about 3 weeks to arrive, so order in advance.

I have been happily using a Honeywell humidifier with this same model/style filter for 3 years. I have been purchasing them from Home Depot as they had the best price, but when I went to purchase replacements, Home Depot was sold out. Well, Honeywell had the next best price. Imagine my shock when I opened the filter box and saw that my new filters were roughly half as thick as the ones that I had been using. And that on top of the fact that Honeywell charged more. Not happy with the purchase, and I am seriously considering buy/using a different manufacturer of humidifiers and filters as a result. Seems like just another example of a company trying to increase profits, while making the consumer pay more.
