  Not Made to Last
Like most other viewers here. I bought this heater because it was quite and energy efficient. After 6 months of use it started to heatup to 80 degrees. I didn't notice this till I woke up one morning sweating. Iturned it down unplugged it and it worked well for a few more weeks. It now doesn't do anything. It turns on displays an incorrect temperature and doesn't heat.
love the timer, the themometer and it's black!
We got this for our boys room as even Florida has chilly nights.
I love the themometer bc I know it won't overheat their room. I love that I can set the timer to turn off in 10hours (around 8am) when they wake up and go off to school, another thing I don't have to remember.
I haven't had any problems with overheating, turning off by itself and we've had it 2 years.
I have broken a wheel but that's my fault. I would by it again.
Gets warm but not if you are over 15 inches away
I bought this at Walmart when an ice storm hit. We plugged this into our emergency generator and this "Large room" heater is not a "Large room" heater. Our living room is rather large and the temperature in the room has risen above a very cold 50 to about 64 since we have had this running... for NINE hours. nine hours to raise the temp 14 degrees in the room. I will give this a try in the master bedroom tonight where we have moved our pre-teens in with us until we get full power restored. May be it will warm up the bedroom. My only real issue is that this is marketed as a "Large room" heater and it just isn't. Medium - maybe.. small.. sure. Wally world had this for $65 and it was the last one. All the other heaters left over were marketed as small or medium room - so you can see why I am irritated that this didn't perform as expected.
  Ours was a menace
After a year or two ours started turning itself onto high, staying on, and getting very, very hot. Its own temperature reading would be much higher than the set temperature. We just cut the cord and threw it in the trash. I just noticed that someone else had an identical problem. We have used a few space heaters, and I would suggest that for various safety reasons you get an oil radiator, but with an old-fashioned manual power switch (off-low-med-high) so that you can set it on low and know that it will stay there.
Unit is leaking oil on my carpet! Not what I expected at all.
Like many others here, I purchased this at Target on sale. I have not been happy with the Honeywell HZ-709 7 Fin Oil Filled Radiator Heater at all.

First off, when you turn it on it makes a lot of dripping and crackling sounds as the oil heats up. I used it in an office so that didn't matter to me, but it might matter to you.

Second, it was not consistent in keeping the room a comfortable temperature. Sometimes a setting of 70 would be very warm and other times it would be cold.

Third, it kept blowing the "breaker" in my surge protector. It didn't blow the circuit breaker, just the surge protector. When this would happen, I would come in to a cold office and have to reset the surge protector and wait for it to heat the room back up again.

Fourth, it takes a long time to heat a room with this type of heater.

Fifth - and the final straw. It has started leaking oil, on my carpet. Great. I have put a thick piece of cardboard under it and am going to buy a ceramic or quartz heater tomorrow.
